TRAINING CAMP

SO GOOD

As we were driving away, my van was talking about how we heard the phrase “So Good” over and over again. We were giggling at how much it was used throughout the week, but in all honesty, I can’t think of anything else to describe how amazing this past week at training camp was.

Before training camp, I was filled with anxiety and fear.

After training camp, I am filled with confidence, strength, and joy.

So what is training camp? Training camp, is a week-long camp where all squads launching in August come together in Gainesville, GA to get the opportunity and tools to prepare and grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically before we launch on the field in August.

Meet K Squad:

This is the squad of 29 incredible men and women that I will be embarking on this journey with, within just a short 2 ½ weeks.

Some things that stand out about K Squad:

We are FILLED with joy!

We are up for the challenge.

We are eager to learn and serve.

We are family.

WE LOVE THE LORD!

Now, meet my team!

(From left to right: Colton, Maria, Jack, Joey, Me, and Emmery)

This is a group of 6 men and women who are zealous, joyous, and on FIRE for the Lord. These are the people I will be living, doing ministry and spending day to day life with for the first few months of our trip! This is an AMAZING team! I can’t wait to see what the Lord does through us!

If I could describe this week in one word, this week was FREEING.

The Gabi who walked into training camp is not the Gabi who walked out.

The Lord moved deep within me to reveal strength, joy, leadership, and discernment that He has gifted me with! He opened doors and called me to fully step into gifts that He has given me to use for His glory.

AND

The Lord called me to Baptism last Friday! Over the last 2 ½ years, the Lord has moved in ways deeper than I can describe and He revealed to me that it was time to take the next step of obedience. What an amazing declaration to what this year has in store, that I have now been washed clean and am made new right before this new adventure with God!

(Here are some pictures from such an amazing moment with my squad mates! My amazing squad mentor, Cami, baptized me and it was such a special moment!)

Some of the CRAZY things we did this week include:

Hiking Yonah (a mountain in GA) and camping at the top

Praying all night as we prepare for this journey

Sleeping in a tent in pouring rain

Using our hands as utensils

Eating a cricket

Winning squad wars

Worshipping louder and harder than ever before

(Here are some moments captured from all these amazing things!)

To say I am excited for this next year is an understatement. To wrap up how this week has left me, I will leave you with the lyrics to the song we worshipped to, in the pouring rain and I believe is a testament to how our squad feels about our amazing Father.

“Our God, is an awesome God. He reigns from heaven above. With wisdom, power and love, our God is an awesome God!”

With love,

A Free Gabi <3

P.S. I could go on and on about training camp, so if you want to know more, I would love to grab a cup of coffee and share it all with you!
