1 month ago, I left home.

3 weeks ago, I arrived in Guatemala.

7 days ago, the Lord called me to say Hineni.

So what all has happened in between all that? A whole bunch!

We are living with a beautiful family here in Guatemala. They have welcomed us in so lovingly, it has felt like home since day one.

Every week, we get to do a variety of different ministry opportunities!

We do manual labor at this sustainable farm called Eco Farms, that uses Mayan techniques it’s farming, and then tie it all back to the Lord. It is fascinating to see how even in farming and the pattern of it, there is a center of it all, and that is the Lord.

We get to visit the homes of locals, check in with them and just spend time and pray over them. It is one of the most humbling things to see the hospitality that Guatemala has had for us. We have seen some amazing healing through these home visits and just gotten to experience God in such a new and incredible way.

We get to do VBS and sports ministry with kids from the town we are living in, and let me tell you, these kids are incredible! They are filled with so much joy and love. They are so excited to see us every week and give the best hugs!

We are participating in a weekly, in depth, bible study led by an incredible couple that live through the Holy Spirit so evidently. Learning from them has been one of the most beautiful gifts of this month.

We get to help with a weekly worship held in the heart of Antigua! It is my favorite night of the week, because the Lord is MOVING here y’all!

So that’s a brief look into weekly life here in Guatemala. Here are some fun pics from all these moments!

The Lord has been so sweet in this month. He has moved so deeply within me.

Upon first arriving to Guatemala, the transition was hard. I found myself struggling to feel connected to the Lord and was already experiencing homesickness. I became really overwhelmed thinking about what exactly I had signed up to do. I felt like I needed to know what was going to happen after the race already.

But in the midst of my quiet time with the Lord, He revealed Trust, Love, and Patience to me. Trust in the Lord. Love the Lord. Let the Lord love you. Have patience in the process.

And just when I thought that was all He had in store for me this month… Remember when I said 7 days ago He called me to say Hineni?

Hineni means: Here I am. Send me. Saying yes to the Lord, without knowing what you’re saying yes to.

When we arrived to Guatemala, that was the first time I ever heard the word Hineni, and I have been captivated by that word ever since hearing it, and I had no clue why…

Well, last week at worship, in the stillness of a moment, He whispered to me, “Hineni. Gabi, I need you to say Hineni”. And so I did. In the midst of praising our amazing God, I said yes to whatever He has in store for me, no matter what that yes means. And I will continue to give Him my yes, always and forever.

I know He has something big in store, but through trust, love and patience, I can sit here in confidence and say

Lord, Hineni.
